Moore sind sehr wichtig für den Artenschutz und die effektivsten Kohlenstoffspeicher aller Landökosysteme.
Moore wurden und werden oft entwässert und z.B. für den Torfabbau genutzt. Moore (Nieder- und Hochmoore) sollten für den Arten- und Klimaschutz erhalten und renaturiert werden.
